For your fall check-up, pay attention to everyday patterns rather than just obvious leaks. A bathroom that stays damp, a window sill that is repeatedly wet, or a room that consistently smells musty is worth adding to your list.
The useful question is not simply, "How do I dry this?" It is, "Why does it keep getting wet?"

Flights, accommodation, and packing tend to get plenty of attention before a long trip. Give your property a place on that checklist.
Before leaving, write down any unresolved maintenance concerns and decide who will respond to a problem while you're away. Make sure that person has the contact details and access arrangements they need.
